there's no real antagonist there.. in fact, the guy is probably his own worst enemy and doesnt even realize it

it's made to be funny fantasy with bits of retro fun

guy wakes up from a 17-year long coma.. but it's actually his soul coming back from another world where he could wield magic... only for that ability to have come back with him as he relates to his nephew what actually happened in that other world

what is the special about it? ;:)

take a look at the anime 'uncle from another world'... you might like it

then pikachu is like "wait, I got an idea to save the day!" and returns and story is solved. lol. so "we've seen this before"

like in the pikachu detective movie. suddenly, pikachu says "nah, don't wanna continue the detective thing and vanishes. and as audience I was like "pfff... i waited for that thing"

but I kind of hate that drama element. it feels so forced in every movie!

well yeah that structure is overused, but you reach a higher audience with that. imagine a movie made without an antagonist, jus happy start and happy movie and happy end. boooring. lol

then there is this drama element where the hero looses interest etc, but then "wait, I have an idea!" then he's back, then the story is solved etc. hehe. it's very schablonic

Nearly all successful modern movies follow the hero's journey in a three-act structure: The Set-up, The Confrontation and The Resolution.

"well do you know enough about film making to make an own movie?" well, there is this hollywood story telling thing. I'm certainly diving into that so the movie will be watchable
